What celebrity would you most want to meet?

Gotta love getting free blog topics from a quick conversation with the wife.

Here's the question - what celebrity would you most like to get to meet. Be it for a breakfast, lunch, or dinner appointment; sitting next to them on a cross-country flight, or via a business meeting. Whatever way you think would be best to get that once in a lifetime meeting together, but most importantly with some person you've wanted to, or would want to meet and converse with.

Please limit answers to living persons, not dead historical figures.

My answer coming up in a reply (after I mull over possible choices a bit more.)

I have got to say John Cena, the WWE Wrestler. I'm sorry, I know I'm boring, but I'm absolutely fascinated with the way he's come from being the kid beaten up at School every day, to the popular Wrestler and Rapper that he now is.

I like both of those choices, though sadly Heston is battling Alzhiemers and he may not be as interesting to meet as he once was.


David Letterman is someone I think might be interesting to meet. He's had so many guests on his show in the past it might be fun to pick his brain on the best and worst of them, and to talk about his show. I used to love his show, and though I still enjoy it, and can't stand Jay Leno's lame humor and laughing at himself, Letterman is not as funny as he used to be, or at least the bits are a bit tired and repeated too frequently.

With that said, I'd actually like to see some more repeats on Letterman -- like the time that he took his stand-by audience and put them on the bus with Tony Randall and sent the whole bus to Florida. That bit was hilarious. Stretched over a few days, with the occupants of the bus put up in a Motel 6 type place, and with Tony Randall taking the entire group into a surplus store where they bought everyone matching olive drab T-shirts.

It was such an original bit, I'd love to see something like it again. The same with his visits with, of all people, Richard Simmons. He's had some interactions with Richard Simmons that were hysterical. A nice "update" on the bus bit might be to have Richard Simmons be the celeb that goes on the bus and have him make the occupants all "sweat to the oldies" as they ride off to where Letterman sends them (some place like say Kansas City, Milwaukee or somewhere in the heartland. Heck, even Dave Letterman's home state of Indiana could be interesting).


It would be nice to think that perhaps Letterman's finally getting Oprah to come on his CBS show might give his show a bit of a jump start. But I think he needs more than just a rare guest, he needs some funny bits, and the best of those seem to come from using real people and getting real reactions to unexpected situations.

Hmm, but if you are headed in that direction, why not George Soros (billionaire philanthropist { someone that gives away money, especially to liberal causes such as MoveOn.org } ) or even Bill Gates or another of the Microsoft billionaires?
