Are you referring to the default Windows icons?
If you are running Windows XP, you can try to do one of the following:
1 - Restore Windows to the default theme, and then "Click Start > Run > type: cmd > hit Enter > type: sfc /scannow > hit Enter.
This command will tell Windows to run System File Checker, which will look for any corrupt or missing files, and will attempt to replace or repair bad files from a sub-directory containing copies of the default protected files that are used by Windows. Note - I have never run this to repair any corrupted or missing icons, but it may work - and it certainly will not hurt your system.
2 - Run "System Restore" and return Windows to a point in time previous to installing Astonshell program.
If this is not your issue, please post again with some details on what is missing.
Andromedita,
I may have been assuming too much.
Here is the text from the FAQ section at Aston shell web site, which sounds like it pertains to your issue:
"Q: I've removed Aston from my computer and now on each boot I get an empty Dekstop without any icons. Please, help me to fix this."
Hmm,
Lost the answer part - here goes again:
Q: I've removed Aston from my computer and now on each boot I get an empty Desktop without any icons. Please, help me to fix this.
Answer = "You must not uninstall Aston by removing its folder manually. Instead, use Shell Swapper from the Start Menu, set Explorer as a shell, logoff and use Add/Remove Programs Control Panel component to uninstall Aston. In your case we recommend that you install Aston and then properly uninstall it."
If you did not use the shell swapper method described in the answer, I would suggest trying it before using either System File Checker or System Restore functions.
