Greetings,
I am an IT analyst for a local high school and they have a system in place to run Citrix Program Neighborhood on older computers so they can avoid the cost of upgrading them. What they want is the computer have a generic logon account to the domain, have the computer auto login with that account, give the students only access to the Citrix program and have them login with their accounts from there.
We have setup the automatic logging in and the whole process does work. Only problem with it is the GUI for the desktop. Students are getting into My Computer and Internet Explorer when they should be using the Citrix Neighborhood.
I recently stumbled upon to DesktopX and enjoyed the idea of altering the desktops to look much like the Guest theme included with the program. I have altered the default theme to make it look like what I want, but now I have a few questions:
-- Can I remove the right-clicking ability to end-users? I don't want students to have access to the start menu the right-click brings up.
-- Can I disable alt-tab and the Windows key? Might not be a DesktopX feature, but does anyone have any links or thoughts on how to do that?
Here is what I have so far (the Citrix icon just opens Notepad for now):
