Firefox: pass along info?

Hey all.

I notice a very big trend recently of people switching to Firefox as their browser. Can those who use it pass along just some general info about it?
-Are there any known bugs?
-Is it actually safer?
-Does WB skin it?
-Are there any negative rammifications to using it over IE (in other words, something you don't get with using IE)?

Things along those lines, and whatever else is relevant.

Windowblinds skins it.
Sites that are coded lazily for IE might now work properly. (This is discovered on a Site to Site basis), and an Extension (add on tool) can be added to firefox to make an "open in IE"option in a right click menu, when on a site that is acting funny.
It doesn't fall vulnerable to alot of IE Exploits.
There are alot of developer Extensions as well as Extension for the Average Joe, that extend Firefox's abilities.
It has a killer AdBlocker Extension, that is filterable (you can write custom Filter Expressions)
It is Tabbed, and that function can be enhanced also.
Overall it is a really sweet browser and It takes a little getting used to but within 2 days you will wonder how you never used it before.

Firefox is an excelent alternative to IE. It gets skinned except for the toolbar icons, they stay the same. As stated above, give it a couple of days use, you will be impressed. As for the extensions, it gives functionality that IE doesn't come close to. The only thing you will need IE for is "Windows Updates", Microsoft gets their fur bristled about that.

I think its safer because it is not as much as a target as Internet Explorer and FireFox is not directly connected to the computer's OS.

Some might argue that it doesn't matter that IE is connected to the users OS, but I really think it does. Mess with IE and there is a higher possibility that your whole system can be taken out as opposed to just your browser and maybe another system program.

That is my take on it from reading and searching.
(I'll admit, I would love an unbiased report on the safety of all browsers)

I've had problems printing from it. Usually to one of the shared printers on the LAN. It's locked up while using the "Select All" command more than once also. I've hit a few sites that didn't come up correctly but I'm sure they will fix that over time. Keep in mind it's only version 1.0
All in all it's vastly superior to IE and Netscape IMHO

For some reason, I'm currently having issues with composing messages in Hotmail while using Firefox. I dont know if this is a common issue, but its a little annoying. What it has done though, is caused me to use my Gmail account alot more, which I'm fine with.

I would second what everyone else has said: Firefox won't take long to become your favorite browser. I have also had one or two occasions where I couldn't "select all" and it has been posted (numerous times,) that sometimes images in FF will "jump" or "bounce" when a new WB is applied, but closing and relaunching FF fixes that problem.
I'm not too surprised to hear that Hotmail doesn't play nice with FF, I don't expect MS to show a lot of cooperation towards their newest rival.

There are known bugs, but there is also an established proces for reporting them, and they are usually fixed in short order.

Also, FireFox has its own set of skins available. Primarily they just change the appearance of the toolbar buttons, but that's exactly what doesn't get changed by WB, so you can get everything changed if you want to.

i like firefox ive been useing it for about a week or so i had it once before but i didnt like it and then i found out about the extensions and so i reinstalled it and tryed it again and it works wonders now firefox is awesome just takes a couple days geting used to

I use firefox almost exclusively on my personal computer, and it's alway's worked a treat.

Now if I can just convince the higher-up's in the company to adopt it permanently, I could use it at work, too. Far superior browser in my opinion ...with far fewer flaws...
