Which antivirus software do you use?

I'd be interested to see what most people use around here, follow the link. I will edit the blog with the overall results after a few weeks.

Don't want to go through the registering process right now 'cause i have to run and do a few things. If interested though, I use Norton Internet Security 2005.

Until a month ago I used Norton...2 viruses slipped right through it in the past 6 months. I now use Panda... it is much more effective.

Hmm, I switched to a new forum layout that unfortunately requires registration to post to polls. My apologies.

However, I disabled all activation/email requirements for registration.. Simply enter a username+password, and you are logged in. Hopefully that will allieviate any of the headaches until I find out how to modify the parameters to let guests vote.

well i tried pretty much all of them...and the best ones i have used are bitdefender and avast

Both of those are good Threi.... In fact, i'd run either of them myself. I do NOT like Norton and McAfee however.

Norton, like everyone with remote intelligence does... No offence intended, it was just a joke , sorry if anyone got offended. But ya, Norton is my choice. Panda was also a good program.

NAV pro 2004, upgraded recently to 2005 ...never had a problem with it

(I've always stuck with Norton, and never had a virus get onto my system.)

Sorry, but either way ...I won't be logging on to a site I don't know and trust. No offense intented.

Currently using Norton IS 2005. Norton stuff has always worked flawlessly for me

I used Norton for years. It remains the best for the masses. However I began to have trouble with it* and now use both AVG and Avast. I use the online scan from Panda as backup.

*Uninstalling Norton System Works is a major b*tch. (Got to know the registry intimately.) After FIVE uninstall/re-install sessions, I said screw it. Besides, by then the retail CD had cracked. GRRR

Norton on my parents computer and Norman on my own.
Got each of them from the ISP and my bank.

Anti-Vir Link - great anti virus software - been uisng it for 10+ years now and have never been hit once, small footprint and best of all FREE!

I'll roll in here with McAfee System Security 7.0. Always like McAfee, never got a virus, but, this new system they have ... well, I'm not too impressed with it's interface. I had some bad vibes with Norton some years ago. Maybe it's getting time to switch.

AVG is actually an exceedingly poor antivirus product.. Most large scale tests, it scores under 60% in detections.. Better rethink your usage of that. Norton has its own set of problems, its absolutely horrible on system resources and performance, and worse, near ZERO detections of Rebased/Repacked Malware. McAfee is better, but uses hACTIVEX controls for updating, has an annoying securty center, and tons of bugs.

NOD32, DrWeb, MKS_Vir and Kaspersky are the 4 best AV's out there. Kaspersky would be the lesser due to fairly clunky software. My personal choices are either NOD32, DrWeb or MKS.. Can't go wrong with those, and they provide GREAT protections..
