first up a possible bug fix in this new WB build!
i have had it installed for about 5 minutes, and i have been "hammering" Tab Launchpad solidly, changing tabs with both the keyboard and the mouse. TLP hasnt resized its self at all!
this is a liberating experience! i havent been able to use TLP this freely since i installed the first WB4 beta! it normally resized within 10 tab changes >
right, now onto the bugs, as requested.
my machine is running winXP pro with an ATI Radion 9200 128meg graphics card
bug1 = windows media player. i am running version 8.00.00.4477, the one that came with winXP pro, since i have no interest in updating it.
i only use WMP for playing movies, so i have it set to the skin "(Default Media Player)" where the brackets are part of the skin name. EVERY SINGLE time i change a WB skin WMP's skin changes to "Windows Classic"
this happens on both my old home machine, my new home machine and my work machine, and has been going on since the WB4 betas, if not earlier.
this has been reproduced, even though WMP is now excluded by default in this build. i have not removed this exclusion so i have not yet tested the window growing bug. with WMP skinned, and using the "(Default Media Player)" skin it grows steadity, downwards and to the right while being dragged with the mouse on the title bar. this is not happening now that it is excluded, and somewhat more ugly
there is hope however. i have a windows program i wrote using the Qt 3.x toolkit. in previous versions of WB 4 Qt programs had exactly the same window growing problem that WMP had when dragged, which is why they are excluded on my work (occasional windows development) machine.
bug2 = there are animated swimming fishes on the title bar of Tab LaunchPad. this is fine, appart from the fact that i have TLP set to "Ignore this application and do not skin it"
i know the rule is for the correct program since i can give it a per-application skin. also, while it is excluded programs launched from TLP were not skinned since they were inheriting its exclusion rule. note that TLP was skinned with the aquarium skin while this was happening.
bug3 = i am still getting the ugly menu bar problems when accessing the menus in notepad via the keyboard (alt_f, etc). this isnt new in this build though. various screen shots of this in action have been sent in to stardock support.
bug4 = there is no preview of the skin XP Jeans when applying a pre application skin.
https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=2124
it is listed, but you only get its name, no picture. again, not a new bug.
bug5 = apply XP Jeans as a per application skin to notepad. i am using a tweaked Aquarium (UIS2 i believe) skin for my main skin. you will notice that the title bar in notepad has its bottom chopped off. this also takes off the bottom of the minimize, maximise and close buttons.
bug6 = again apply XP Jeans as a per application skin to notepad. now resize this window vertically with the mouse. do *not* hold down the alt key while doing this. look at the redraw effect at the bottom of the scroll bar. this happens every other move, going both up and down.
bug7 = apply XP Jeans as a per application skin to Internet Explorer. now try and read the favorites menu. look at the other menus for comparison. i am also noticing that IE is getting the same problem with the bottom of the title bar being chopped off as notepad.
hopefully this is the sort of feedback you were after. the programs you are listing at the start of the thread are ones i dont use, so i cannot really comment on those.
