I watched a documentary on Drew Carey and his eventual fame. He had been a Marine right before he started stand up. He really was not accepted as very good by many until he noticed that he had a knack for being cynical and people loved it.

Heck as rituals go I liked it a lot more than when my brohter was married and had hundreds of guests at a huge Church. But that was just my wife and I, how we felt, Mike and his wife lived for that wedding of theirs and it was fantastic for them.
You could tell the two groups apart at the reception though. Her family and friends all mingled and danced and such. Mike and my friends all sat around the kegs until they were empty and ended up running for more! ( just like old times growing up, except the this time we didn't have to worry about getting caught
