I had walked away from my PC for a minute, when I got back, I was presented with a prompt to re-enter my key. It took me two tries, my first attempt was rejected for I don't know why... The 2nd try, it was accepted.
I think I know why this happened, when I installed start11 the computer had it's original generic name, "desktop-randomnumbers", which I changed to a more rememberable and networkable name.
I think I have two, maybe three activations for the same PC now.
I have this entry in my Log file at
[2023-10-30T22:32:07] Info : Loaded package file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start11\Default.spak', Version '0'.
[2023-10-31T10:29:44] Error : Validate License (Revoke_MachineMismatch) 'The machine data does not match the existing license. Revoke the current license.'.
So it looks like start11 revoked my key because my machine ID was not the same as it was when I installed it?
I have these 3 machines:
"Desktop-Randomnumbers1" activated on 2023/07/19 05:25 PM last Used on 2023/08/24 04:50 PM
"Desktop Randomnumbers2" activated on 023/10/24 01:29 PM (which was when I wiped the machine and reinstalled Windows) and last used on 2023/10/28 03:08 PM
Finally, I have the new name, "P*****-PC", which was the same as the name I had when I originally installed start11, activated on 2023/09/07 10:48 PM, and then activated again today: 2023/10/31 04:04 PM
I'm pretty sure I have not installed to any other workstations, so I should de-activate all Desktop-Random named PCs that are not showing today as "Last Activity Date"? Which should leave me with 3 Machines activated, I have two machines here and one at a Business location that I get in to with a Remote desktop. I'm just trying to go over this in my head so I don't inadvertantly deactivate any licenses I forgot about...
Mostly I just need to know, the reason the product deactivated was due to the MachineID change? I can post a log if need be, thanks.
Happy Halloween!
