Groupy 2 is full of bugs and issues that I don't have in Groupy 1. Is therefore Groupy 1 still getting updated?

Of course I could post all the bugs and issues here but it would take a lot of time and I would prefer to just use Groupy 1.

If you bring a new version you should check that it works clean with PowerToys Fancy Zones and that no functionality is lost eg background color of unfocused tabs.

If i put it in a fanzy zone holding shift then the window doesnt fill in the full zone and at the top it leaves a space. When "Add a background bar to the tabs" is turned off then it takes the complete height of the zone but it has then not the background. In groupy 1 i don't have this bug.

I also dont get why the groupy bar comes when i have 1 ungroupped window and hover over the top bar of it.

I am sorry you are having problems.

The Groupy bar shows when you mouse over because you have the option to do that for ungrouped windows enabled. It is on the main Groupy config page.

Groupy 1 is not getting further updates.

The more information you can give us on your issues, the more chance of us resolving them for you.

If you are not aware there is a 2.1 beta update available already.

The problem with fancy zones still exists in newest version. at the top it doesnt go fully to the edge and it is 100% because of groupy2. there is even some setting for this top thing. groupy 1 which i am still using everywhere because of this bug that you are unable to fix doesnt have this bug.

Hello Neil, could you tell me approximately till when you are able to understand what this problem of groupy 2 is? I need to use groupy 1 and it depends on this ability to understand what the problem is till one can switch to groupy 2 I think.

I tell the problem again:

please put grouped windows in a fancy zone of Powertoys and you will see that it leaves at the top of the group space and doesnt fill in the whole zone.

please do the same with groupy 1 and 2 if you are unable to see the difference. also there must be someone bad who is responsible that functionality of groupy 1 when it comes to color setting is not there anymore.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not reproduce your issue on my Windows 10 system. It might be because we don't have same setup. Please let us know more on your system.

Windows 10 or 11? Need full version numbers. Use Winver.exe.
Groupy 2 version number please.
PowerToys version number?
Is the issue happen on any application with FancyZone. Or only few application with FancyZone?
Groupy 2 setting.
- General: Tabs above or integrate into Titlebar?
- Tab appearance: Traditional tabs/Rounded tabs
- Tab appearance: add background bar on or off?
- Tab appearance: Make tabs taller on or off?
- Tab appearance: Always visible/Show when active/Hide when maximized/always hide
- Tab appearance: Advance tweaks: Snapshot on this page will be easier.

Here what I am on

Windows 10 V22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324)
Groupy V2.11
PowerToys V0.63.0
No issue found so far.
Groupy setting.
- Integrated the tabs
- Rounded tabs
- Add a background bar to the tabs : On
- Make tabs taller: Off
- Tab always visible.

this issue exists on any system and the problem is that no time is invested to read what I write and reproduce the steps.

It happens on any zone and with any type of tab group. it doesnt matter which app.

I can only write about it the 20th times. Make zones and then attach a tabed group to it. The zone will not be fully filled out with the tab group and leaves space at the top that can be seen on my 2 screenshots above. And this happens on any system. The problem is that you are not reproducing it.
