After years of enjoying many updated versions of WindowBlinds on my old Win98SE system, I finally upgraded to WinXP Home on a real zinger of a new system and celebrated by purchasing wb410 enhanced to go with it.
However, when I installed wb410 (two months ago!), up popped this message...
"Bad Image: The application or DLL C:\Windows\Sysytem32\OLE2.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your Installation diskette."
[I have checked, by the way - the above ole2.dll DOES reside
in the above location on my hard drive]
Entries for all the various selections appeared in my "Start/All Programs" menu, but there was no WindowBlinds program to launch anywhere in Windows Explorer - the original installation had obviously failed due to the above error - and subsequent attempts to reinstall produce the same results.
I've spent the past two months "working" with Stardock Support who suggested I "wipe the slate clean" (remove the Start menu enties) using their odnt_zapper.exe utility, but even this failed to work!
Eventually I just deleted all these entries "manually".
As Stardock Support seem to have no idea what to do next, I was wondering if anyone else (ie you) has either experienced a similar problem, or has any suggestion or advice to assist me in installing WindowBlinds v.410 Enhanced.
I do miss it so!
