FDA issues tampering warning

SEATTLE - The Food and Drug Administration has issued a vague warning to consumers in Western Washington to check for possible tampering on any recently purchased supermarket products.
The agency says this is a precautionary measure because of an anonymous letter describing puncturing of a small number of products.

The FDA asks people in Western Washington to look at products purchased in the last few days.
The FDA says the products may be punctured.
No actual tampering has been reported at this time.
The FDA says any product or packaging could be affected and asks people to look for small punctures, holes, or even drill marks, and to pay close attention to purchases made in the last few days.
The vague threat neither identifies any stores nor does it name any specific products.
The FBI and FDA are investigating.
Anyone who finds signs of tampering should call the FDA's emergency operations center at 301-443-1240.

Geez...! I've had fears about this for a long, long time...I won't go into details about what I fear the worst because I don't want to put any ideas 'out there' but how sick does a person hafta be? *sigh*
