Edit to add: Windows 2004 (19041.630), SP v 10.0 -- Though I've had this issue for a very long time....
I tried turning on the Enhanced sounds, and checking, but there are no min/max sounds. I also went into Control Panel and Sounds in there to see what's mapped to the events (Asterisk, e.g.) and it's just the awful.. nay, defawful sounds.
Onward...
I read the other post about SoundPackager and checked that solution-- my AppData/Roaming/Stardock doesn't even have a SoundPackager folder in it.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled SoundPackager a few times, but it always does this same behavior.
So, this install, it opens, and shows completely empty, except for default sounds. If I use SP to download a new scheme, it shows the downloading, then the installing, but it does not show up in Local, and it does not alter the actual sounds. Only the Default shows in Local, regardless.
The only thing that seems odd to me is that in the My Documents/Stardock.... folder, there are named folders for the sound schemes I've downloaded, they contain solely an .ini file, and that .ini file seems to contain just one key-- a number labeled as size or something.
This application is actually kind of important for me-- I get really sensitive to certain sounds with just a little bit of repetition, and the default Windows 10 sound when you (e.g., change your volume) makes me want to smash my monitor. I know I could manually go in and change it, but.. c'mon.. I paid for this, and also, I accidentally renewed for two years instead of one.
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks.
