Admins take heed…we appreciate your valiant efforts to soothe the savage/artistic soul.
Talk about a conundrum indeed!
We have seen a major change implemented about walls on a skinning site no less (haha). Before it used to be a feather in one’s cap to get a wallpaper accepted into this site…now…it will most certainly be up to the rating system to determine…
Now we’ve seen a lot of nay-Sayers already upset with the change of venue and let’s be real… a skin that took hours/days/weeks will now be seen on the “Newest Editions” list for maybe a smidgeon of the time it normally would have because the FLOOD of walls coming in will most surely sock ‘em down to the bottom in a flash with the current wallpaper leniency.
Now, we must agree that the latest improvements need tweaking but coming to this conclusion after all the gripes and angst and hurts just to hopefully appease folks is certainly an admirable endeavor…and worthy of a freakin’ medal of sorts.
Somebody already suggested this…but can’t remember who but we’ll elaborate on the idea a bit and say…
On the front page, maybe make a whole separate Newest walls additions and make it much smaller than the skins additions…that way SKINS are still top dawg. This way we have our wall authors still happy with being accepted and our hard-workin’ skinz authors happy that they are the primary “newest editions”…
Maybe put the Latest Walls section right below Updated skins…seems there’s still plenty of room on the right side of the page to implement it.
-And nope…ya can’t please all the people all the time…but look how hard the folk behind this site have bent over backwards to try and make it more fair and enjoyable…
YES, this is a skinning site…BUT…walls are important too! They just need their own separate category maybe. Hmm?
Also to reiterate sumpin’ we said but now to say it in a different way…
…This site generates a bit of excitement in most everyone because it IS an awesome place to be…and someone who is clueless about animation or skinning or doing icons is left with being an “artist”…Truly…we suspect some folks don’t use the term “artist” as SUPERIOR but actually feel quite INFERIOR…and feel a bit left out when their works are so quickly rejected when an awful skin is so easily accepted. Hence a bit of the “bitter pill”…WC has been currently experiencing…
We hope Frogboy + admins+staff will be able to haggle out a suitable end for all. But let’s give some kudos for their efforts thus far. Eh?
