Weird border on active tab in dark mode

dark mode problem

Greetings,

sorry in advance if this has already been answered, I tried to search for the solution but I didn't really find a solution. When I'm in light mode, the UI on the tabs looks really nice, however in dark mode there's a thick line above on the active tab (and also a slightly thinner line on the left, if the very first tab is selected) - see attached screenshot.

How to get rid off it?

Windows Version is: 1903 Build 18362.295

Groupy Version is: 1.25

I think the top line might be intentional (especially when the window is inactive, see screenshot), but I don't like it at all and it doesnt seem to be there in day mode either.

However the left line in the OP screenshot I can't explain at all.

Yes, I believe it is by design. Its more clear if you have accent color option turn off. Where the tabs background always black on Windows 10 dark theme.

Hm, I don't think it is intentional. I mean yes, when inactive it makes sense and probably is intended. But not when the window is active. Look at this comparision:

How does it look like for others when the accent colours are on? it looks definitely like a UI bug to me, it's not a big deal but it kinda drives me nuts

On my picture above it is active windows with second tabs selected. Please note the setting was set that Show accent color on title bars is off on my screenshot while yours the accent color is on (blue/cyan)

yes I realize that. But please look at the last picture I posted, especially the comparision between light and dark mode when the window is active. In light mode, the line isn't there, whereas in dark mode it is (which doesn't make sense). This makes me think that it's a bug since it must have been deactivated for light mode, which means there is a flag for it.

Maybe the value for "show active tab line with accent color on title bars" is set wrong.

And the left line on the dark mode is completely unexplainable to me as well

I still think it is by design for user that use dark mode with accent on titlebar disable. Without that line the tabs active and inactive will both black. Can't differentiate between active and inactive tabs on active windows. The line is also can be seen on Windows 10 Light mode with accent on titlebar turn off.

thanks again for your quick reply, but I think we're talking at crossed purposes. I don't know how to make this more clear, the behaviour in light and dark mode of Groupy is different, whereas the light mode behaviour makes sense, and the dark mode behaviour doesn't.

Again, I have provided a screenshot, once with titlebar accent color on and once off. You can clearly see that the top line disappears in 1a in light mode (because it obviously is not needed when the accent color is displayed in the title bar. If accent colors are off, the line is displayed (which makes sense). But in dark mode, in "1a" the line (plus the weird line on the left of the tab) is displayed, which probably is not intended/doesn't make sense. Which means the behaviour of the UI in Groupy is different in light and dark mode.

Again you are comparing for people who have the accent color on. What about people who have that accent color off. Without that line the tabs cannot be differentiate. But with people with accent color on that line is just 2-3 pixels taller which will not affect the performance of Explorer or any program you grouped. I am done trying to help explaining it. But, I have forwarded your questions/problems to the Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate you feedback and patience.

... honestly, I am at a loss of words. Not only did I explain everything in detail, I provided screenshots for everything, including the view when the accent color in the title bar is off.

For the last time, in active windows:

Light mode, accent colour on: NO line on top is displayed = works fine for users who have title bar colours on. (since there is NO line displayed here there MUST be some flag withing the groupy software to disable it!)
Light mode, accent colour off: A line on top is displayed = works fine for users who have title bar colours off (there is NO problem for those who have it switched off, unlike you implied!)
Dark mode, accent colour on: A line on top is displayed plus a weird line on the left (contrary to light mode! THIS is the problem/bug I am referring to!)
Dark mode, accent colour off: A line on top is displayed = works fine for users who have title bar colours off (once again there is NO problem for those who have it switched off)

I'm not going to monitor this thread anymore, nor will I provide further feedback, as I am feeling a little trolled at this point. I've provided ike 5 screenshots and you refuse to see the problem. Thanks anyway for your time.

I just wanted to let everyone know that this bug (and yes, it was a bug) has been resolved with the latest update and it now works as intended.

I am thankful that the devs acknowledged it and fixed the problem, however I wasn't really happy about how this thread was handled by the community manager(s) (i am unsure what exactly their connection to stardock is, do they get paid or is it a voluntarily service?) and it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

As a customer, I surely do not want to get belittled and being told that you are "done trying to explain it to me", when clearly you were in the wrong, as now proven since the problem has been resolved.
