Option to set a live stream as wallpaper?

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible , or if it might even be considered as an option for a future release if not, to set a live stream from a web source as a wallpaper. Currently there just aren't any products out there that can do it in a decent way. VLC's method is no good and tried using that 'Push' software to do it but no dice, it doesn't seem to work...

Anyone know if Deskscapes can pull it off? I realize it might be due to legal restriction that this can't be done but I thought I'd ask anyway.

- or other things that are similar and tend to run all the time.

Hello,

The Link you are showing is just a youtube video which can be played as a WMV format video in Deskscxapes

on your desktop as a loop , or can be converted into a dream file format as an AVI video to play on your desktop as

a Dream.

*** Note playing as a WMV video on your desktop would use twice or more CPU usage then an

actual dream file made with an AVI format video.

as always be aware of copyright rules for any source videos you are dealing with .

So playing a video on your desktop YES Deskscapes can do that.

Playing a Live Stream as live wallpaper would be something different , many ways to live stream your

desktop to websites i.e. Youtube , Facebook etc. but the other way as a live wallpaper I don't know of.

Maybe something Stardock could look into in the future .

The link I provided looks like a bad example, since now that I think about it it's not winter anymore, lol... still, it's being broadcast as a live stream, I'm not sure I can even download that. But you're right about the .WMV, I've had a .WMV playing as my wallpaper that I got from a Youtube post from a while back. No copyright issues per the source owner. It would be a brilliant feature if they were able to implement something like live stream desktops, one can only hope.

Can dream files support 4k? I'm not taking a performance hit at all but doesn't hurt to eek out the most efficient use of resources.
