Tonight is the first night of Passover, a holiday celebrating the Exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt. The holiday is often associated with the struggle of people to be free from oppression, a value that we all can share.
The holiday is usually observed with a ceremonial dinner (a Seder) and a reading of the Haggadah (the "Telling" of the story of Passover.)
It occurs to me that there is no people on this Earth who has not been oppressed and either come through that oppression already or are still struggling to come through such oppression.
So, I want to wish all freedom from oppression and fear, freedom from want and from violence. May we all find freedom and peace in the coming year.
