Fences 2.x In Win 10

I can tell you from my experiences with Fences in Win 10 it just plain doesn't work. I used Fences 1.X for several years on Win 7 and it worked great. The Stardock people should not be indicating that 2.x works on Win10. They are just causing problem and hard feelings for their customers. They should work on it and not release it for Win 10 until they are sure it works.

Have you tried the latest version? That would be Fences 3, just out of beta.

You must have an ObjectDesktop subscription to access betas.  Actually, Fences 3 beta is version 2.90.

I have a multi-monitor setup and, when I first installed v2.13 on Win10, the fences' locations changed after a reboot (often switching from one monitor to another). However, this behavior mysteriously vanished after a couple of reboots (without my having knowingly done anything), and now Fences 2.13 is running perfectly. I love the auto-organizing feature (based on customizable rules). Looking forward to seeing what 3 brings (and hoping it's free for folks like me who very recently bought 2)

I have found that If I create a shortcut in Windows 10, place it on my desktop I cannot drag it into an existing fence on my desktop.

is this something that will be corrected in version 3?

i have tried everything like re installing etc but it makes no difference.

I have Stardock Fences 2    2.13 happily running in Windows 8.1.

If I "upgrade" to W10 will this still run ? Or do I have to purchase a W10 compatible version ?

Fences 2 should be fine in Windows 10.

Hi guys,

I'm running Fences 2.13 on Windows 10. Works fine until all my icons are locked.

I cannot move any one any more. Just delete.

Any ideas?

Right-click a Fence, select View, and make sure the fences are not locked.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a reinstall especially if you updated to Windows 10.

The latest v2.x works great for me in Windows 10 v1511. I did install Fences after the upgrade to Windows 10.
