I would also like to know this! On one computer it is listed as "Instellingen" (Dutch for Settings) and on my other computer it is named "Immersive Control Panel". Both are running the same version of Start10. It seems kind of random to give different names. I would also like to be able to alter the name manually!

Hey PerfectLight, I'm glad someone else wrote in.  Tech Support (Sean) doesn't really believe me that it happened.  They're sort of blaming me for it.

And, yes, I have the 'Settings' shortcut in 'All Programs'.

That's the issue then.

The shortcut on the right hand side is a shortcut to that link and it will use the name of that.

The name of that is controlled by the OS, so it sounds like there may be an OS bug which is causing the shortcut to lose the translated name it uses sometimes (Immersive Control Panel.lnk is the actual name of the file on the drive)  This would be outside the control of Start10.

However we can put in some code which if it sees it is called that simply use "Settings" as the label.

I would like to repeat a couple of things I said previously:

1. My 'Settings' link in 'All Programs' in named properly and working properly.  So that isn;t the issue with me.

2. I, too, get a non-functioning link called 'Desktop' if I don't have a link called 'Immersive Control Panel' in the Program Files (x86) Start10 folder.

3. My functioning link on the right called 'Settings' also mystically changed one day when I logged in.  It changed to 'Immersive Control Panel' and I've been unable to get 'Settings' back, no matter how many times I install/uninstall and purge Start10 from the registry.

Again, I have a perfectly good, functioning link called 'Settings' in 'All Programs'.  Yet, I still have the 'Immersive Control Panel' link on the right of the menu.  I can turn it on and off by configuring Start10 to display or not display 'Settings'.

All I can say is for you to maybe start a new post to get the moderator's attention.  Or, start a Support Ticket.  I have received no help from either approach.  I believe the Stardock folks think I'm nuts.

This happens to me too!  I add 'Settings' to the right-shortcut area and it appears as 'Desktop' with an false error message relating to immersive control panel when clicked.

I hope this bug is fixed as I use the Win10 Settings menu regularly and I have to use a manual shortcut on the taskbar as a workaround to this obvious BUG.

This bug first happened after upgrading Windows 10 to the big 1511 update last month. So it is most likely a change in Win10 that has triggered this bug.

I cannot find a Settings shortcut link in All Programs.  Do you think the start10 Settings shortcut refers back to an original one in All Programs?

Wow.  Really??  That is a quick fix way of doing things, don't you think?

A shortcut sitting on another shortcut makes an unstable platform.  If (as in my case) the shortcut the program is balancing on is deleted then the program itself fails (as it has in my case). The professional way to implement calling the system's Settings window would be a direct call to Windows itself. How much of the Start10 software is written in this amateur way? And should I be concerned about start menu stablilty?

As a software engineer myself I would never build in a feature in an application that sat on top of a shortcut link that was user-deletable from an area that users consider their own domain to change (i.e. the All Programs area of the start menu). 

If such a feature was necessary I would consider it purdent to add a further option to reconstruct those shortcut links that the software relied upon rather than just let it fall over in the way Start10 does when a user-configurable link is deleted.
