To the mod rejecting my dreams

"Desert Storm" is the second Dream Rejected by the mods for "Copyrighted video that needs to be less than 15 seconds". In both cases, the Mod was wrong. ("ChamAlien" was the other Dream rejected because The Mod falsely accused me of using copyrighted video.)

 

 In the "Desert Storm" dream, The only video I used is from Royalty Free video from the "video copilot  action essentials" pack that cost $100 bux and gives me every right to use in any project I want and distribute my work. The video was billowing smoke and muzzle flashes.  The images I used were royalty free images that I myself animated. From the hovering helicopter with its spinning blades to the group of fighter jets that "wiggled" independently as they flew across the screen.  

 This was with the rejection email--

***Nicely done except unless you took the video, it can only be 15 seconds long.? So if you took the video you need to say so in the Authors comments and reup it or cut it down to 15 seconds.***

 So I reuploaded the dream because I have all rights to the Dream. But It was rejected again. 

  I have the After effects project file along with the all files used to create these dreams But I do not know how to contact the mod that has the objection, in order to prove I have all rights to share this dream. The same goes for the First dream I tried to upload, "ChamAlien".

Simply reupload WITH all proof of your rights to make this dream.

copyright issues here are very rigid, this is something jafo will have to explain to you,

i had to ask jafo once to explain to me about poser stuff i bought, even though i bought it, i still needed their permission to upload it.

All you need to do is explain in the comments of how the dream/video was created and you should be good. If you used a segments of action essentials or similar from Andrew Krammer, you are fine, since you have rights to do that.

Until the Mods know you better, and get used to your work you will need to let them know these things. Remember, they have to ere on the side of caution as they are only human. All you really need to do is tell them that this is an original render of yours and you should be OK.

In case my opening statement was read wrong, The "main idea" of the story was not knowing who to talk to or send the files to in order to prove I have all rights to upload and share the dreams I created. I hope it wasn't taken as me griping at the mods. I fully understand the need to keep copyrighted material off the site. Though at the same time, it is so deflating to put all that time and effort just to get rejected when I fully believe it meets all submission guidelines. 

 
@RedneckDude, When I upload the dream, I have no way to upload the "Proof files". My first dream rejected for "copyrighted video", I sent a reply to the rejection email (NOT the automated one) with all images and after effects project file but never got a reply.

 @Carguy1 and @Vampothika, I understand copyright issues and the mods reasoning to being skeptical. In this case I have the "Action Essentials" pdf license agreement and #8 states I have all rights to use any of the containing footage in my completed works. I just dont know who to give all this information to. 

Again, I am not trying to gripe at, or call out the mods. I am just trying to find a way to prove my case.

Pizentu,

references to permissions, copyrights, etc are to be included in a 'permissions.txt' file or similar....included with the uploaded skin/dream/whatever for the Mods to verify.

It is important to distinguish between permissions to 'use' and permissions to 'use and redistribute' as they are not exactly the same, and one will often be granted specifically without the other.

A typical 'usage right of purchase' can often mean subsequent 'works' created are for your use only, and distribution, commercial or otherwise can often be prohibited....

Are you not able to upload the dream in a zip, along with "proof files" ?

 as far as the permissions- #8 reads as follows:

8. The Contents are royalty free and may be published, broadcasted and distributed through broadcast channels in completed works.

  So when I reupload the dream, all I need to do is put the dream and the license agreement.txt in a folder and upload as a zip file? Then in the dream description, state that this is an original render of mine?

Pizentu ...yes, however recently we had a sea of complaints from another artist community who objected to the specific type of program their works were being used for.  They had no history/awareness of the program...and thus had not allowed for it in their consents....and through the omission it was presumed our use was OK.

They decided it was not, and thus all of the users were 'thieves/rippers' when the reality was their permission/copyright was simply unclear/vague....and open to interpretation.

The absolute care-taker would query the source for specific consent/s for the specific function/use...

" Can I use your product/s for inclusion in dreams?"

"This is what a 'dream' is....[link]"

 

However, 99 times out of 100 you'll be fine with the standard copyrights' inclusions....
