Recently there was a thread dealing with Dreams, I believe, not being able to have sounds under Windows 7.  It made me think for a second and I remembered a piece of software from Vector Media that I have on my XP computer.  I went and checked on their site and they now have a version that runs on Windows 7.  Basicaly it allows you to have background sounds running on you computer.  I've uploaded it on my Windows 7 64 bit computer and it runs fine with DeskScapes 3.  You can open it, select the sounds you want and then minimize it to the taskbar.

The software is called Atmosphere ( Ambient Soundscape Generator ).  From the home page select 'Free Trial'.  There is a Deluxe, Lite Plus and Lite versions.  The lite version is free and it's what I'm running.  For free it's worth a try.  As you can see from reading the information Lite Plus and Deluxe gives you lot more sounds and capabilities.

Yeah I know, another piece of software on your computer.
