I have been using Object Dock and all of the other stardock software for many years now and I have not ever seen anything as horrible as Object Dock 2.0. I didn't even know there was an update, the only reason I found out about it was because I was reinstalling windows and went to reinstall object dock. It is near impossible to customize, the menu's seem hidden and it does not see updates to file's unless you quite and restart it. It does not have default icons for programs when they are dragged onto the dock, and it almost tries to force you to use the longest possible method of doing anything. There are no short ways to access information. I am really really dissapointed in this recent "upgrade", more like a downgrade just to make the settings menu look prettier. I had to search Google to find the last 1.9 release. If I was not able to find it I honestly think that would have been the end of my use of object dock, and possible the other stardock software. I renew the entire suite almost every year, and if I was going to run into this kind of garbage with the other applications I was not going to waste my time. I also found it very strange that I could not find Object Dock in Impulse. I had to download it from the stardock website. Why was it not listed? I couldn't restore my backup from 1.9 because they changed everything about the ini file(s). It went from one to multiple files that accomplish the exact same thing, but now made more complicated by having more files. Honestly, whoever decided to make these changes to Object Dock should be fired. They took a very well made, easy to use piece of software, and made it as complicated as possible. Even adding new applications to the dock is not as easy as it was before. Yeah, I can still drag and drop the icon to the dock, but that is where the similarity ends. The backgrounds, themes, icons, and everything else have been moved from the user's Documents folder to the program file folder. Which makes things a real pain in the ___ if you are using Windows 7 (or still on Vista... which windows makes it impossible to change things for those users). My suggestion to stardock, get rid of that ridiculous settings window and make it easier to use. Put all of the customizable aspects of it back in user-land, and get them out of the folders locked down by windows.
