Uninstall 1.90 before installing 2.0?

Will ObjectDock 2.0 install over 1.90 Build 536 thereby retaining all settings or must the earlier version be uninstalled before installing the latest version?

Yes it will. The best you can do is to archive 1.9 through Impulse and then install OD2+. It adopts files from 1.9 so you'll be left with a folder in your "Programs" but most all of the contents will move to 2.0.

Actually, you can, and I do, have both installed at the same time. Then switch to 1.9 to change things that are missing in 2.0, then switch back to 2.0. And it will retain the settings. Go figger...lol.

ObjectDock v1.9 and v2.0 use the same settings folder:

XP:       C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Local\Stardock\ObjectDock

Vista/7: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDock

Therefore, any changes that you make in one version of ObjectDock will affect the other.

It sounds like we're talking about apples and oranges here. ObjectDock's executable files are under the first directory you listed, and the custom backgrounds and docklets are under the second directory that you listed (custom to you, of course). The settings, however, are located under the directory that I listed earlier.

Yep, under (french) XP, C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus for V 1.9
