Still, I'm glad that I don't live under a 'total' dictatorship.... I like to call our PM an effwit.... and live.
This is true. I like to call our dear leader a dickhead and live. That could change soon.
Let's hope it doesn't change soon, then.... leaders need to be reminded they are dickheads every now and then... helps to remind them that they can be voted out.
BTW, not that I'm implying anything here... but I'm curious. Is there a difference between a dickhead and a 'bone'head?
Don't wanna know but I'm asking... like I'm thinking (below the belt) and wonder if there might be some similarities.
only the rule of reasonably thought out and enforceable laws stands a chance. There you go, that's the problem. There is no reasonable thought unless it's self-serving, and laws are enforced by social status not with equality.
Precisely... like when gov't enables a law that allows them to put parking meters in a place that does not need or qualify for them: EG, in a street that not in the CBD, is never over-parked and parking poses no hazard to passing traffic. Gov't, in its self-serving wisdon did this in a street not far from me, where residents and visitors have no off-street parking... they put in 40-odd parking meters under a new by-law to 'supposedly reduce traffic congestion.
Yeah right, in a quiet suburban street that sees little traffic volume and is not an intregral part of the traffic network. Truth is, with no off-street parking for residents/their visitors, it's a revenue raising exercise.
Thing is, this is only one instance of gov't passing self-serving laws, many, many more exist world-wide.
