All skinned items revert to Classic after reboot

Hello,

First time poster here on this site. I'm having issues with my Windowblinds but first here is my info pertaining to my copy:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.4 (build 73 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(SyncMaster 2253BW/2253LW,SyncMaster Magic CX2253BW/CX2253LW(Digital)) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+

Anyway, I've scanned the other articles with the same problem as me and have tried those fixes but they've all failed. I've actually been emailing back and forth with a support tech from Stardock, but so far everything he's suggested has failed. So I thought I'd try the community here to see if you find folks can shed some light. Here is what I have tried:

-Fresh install utilizing a registry cleaner

-Disabling various processes on startup (I've heard rumors about Nvidia conflicting with Windowblinds)

-Adding Windowblinds to the "exceptions" list of my anti-virus

-Disabling my anti-virus completely during install

-Updating my drivers

For the record I have a genuine copy that I bought online through the Stardock store and also utilize a genuine version of XP SP3/32-bit. I have a custom built system. Help?

Does this include Nview? I believe that has given others problems in the past.

nview does cause problems but not the kind you are reporting........

Since you're having issues make sure that you DISABLE anti-spyware (memory resident) as well as anti-virus and the firewall prior to running the installation........

Anything that inhibits scripts running from the web can interfere with Impulse during the installation. You have an odd mix of dates so it looks like you are best to uninstall windowblinds completely. You might want to click on the orb in Impulse and under Preferences choose reset data, close & restart Impulse....wait for it to update itself.

I would suggest you uninstall Windowblinds > Reboot > disable anti-spyware, virus & firewall > install Windowblinds > Reboot > re-enable anti-spyware, virus & firewall

Have you tried any other non-windowblinds themes? I had a problem like this a while back: Computer crashed, rebooted in safe mode, fixed error, rebooted in standard, and every skin turned out to be classic. A couple months later I was completely used to the classic theme and downloaded a different theme onto my computer, forgetting that it would just turn out to be classic again. I selected it as my theme and applied, and it actually shifted to the theme I downloaded. After that, my older skins started working again. So, for me, the solution to this problem was to download a non-windowblinds theme and apply it. I may be talking about a completely different problem, but from what I gathered, you're having the same one as I did.

Hmm, I'll give that some thought...I downloaded a pack of like 100 themes for Windowblinds and have only tested those. Where can I find non-Windowblinds themes? On this site? Apologies for sounding like a noob...in this area, I actually am. Thanks for the reply though!

I downloaded a pack of like 100 themes for Windowblinds and have only tested those.

You might try downloading them from here instead of a warez site. You never know what you get there, could have already screwed up your computer.

The culprit is "NVIDIA Display Driver Service" go to >start >run type msconfig and click on the service tab and disable the service and reboot. (Vista, enter msconfig into start menu search)
