Ok right click on the shortcut on the dock you wish to open with a maximized window, in the context menu select "Dock Entry Properties", in the Config window that opens go to the "run" box and change from "normal window" to "maximized". press ok and now it will forever open in a maximised window 
I tried the shit close with the dock and it never remembers. Any info?
