I caught the “skinning fever” when I read in Wired Magazine (8.10 / Oct 2000) a report that talked about the possibility of changing Windows Gui with WindowBlinds.
Find more information on the internet and just making me a objectdesktop subscriber and big fan of Stardock's products. Even before the release of ObjectDock I´ve been using a Mac OS Dock clone made with DesktopX. With the release of ObjectDock my acceptance was instant and I bought my license of OD + as soon it was released, with all it’s extras and unique effects. Very Coool!!
Nothing had changed until 2 weeks ago when, looking for news about the great stacks docklet made by Matonga… BANG! I discovered that there is a program called XWindows Dock!
From then on I saw the old skinning mania reborn. Step hours finding, changing, customizing my new dock with all the new features (actual icon reflections, four types of built in stacks, docklets, etc...) And the best: I found that I can use it with my ObjectDockTabbed dock without any problems or incompatibilities. The program has, like any software, bugs and missing features but brings what all Skinner search for: “eye-candy”ness, cloning possibilities, whistle and bells, and a lot of fun!
The last update of OD+ has enough time… Come on guys, from time to time, camp fire needs more firewood!
