if you are looking to be able to See your Desktop Icons when running DX then, open DX, right click the systray button and select switch to DX builder, after it has loaded DX builder then re right click the systray icon and select " configure DX builder" in the window that opens select the Desktop tab and unselect Hide desktop Icons, then Click apply and Ok to close the window.
You should now be able to see your desktop Icons
