Microsoft DirectX 9 and Silverlight Updates Available

These two program updates have just been released by Microsoft and they don't usually appear in your Microsoft Update queue so if you are like me and keep your computer up-to-date with the most available software updates click the links below and go grab these important updates.

Okay Leo can you give me the simple not technical version of what Silverlight is supposed to provide or do? Yeah I know I can hit the link but usually MS makes their stuff hard to understand at times.

Is this something that those who run a PC will get as an update/download in the future?  

I wonder why MS leaves these out of the update queue?

Silverlight is MS's product to offer enriched Web content. Those who develop Silverlight based Web sites will have this enriched content available to people who have Silverlight on their machines. Competes mostly with Adobe Flash and Java products, if you ask me.
