Okay, this all started because I had to upgrade - for absurd work purposes - to Office 2007. And when I first installed it I was not seeing the purty tabbed skin MS must be so proud of. Instead I was seeing a colorless, or rather greyed out version splotchy version.
I searched and found that quite a few people had experienced this, either because of an extra SMS driver on their system or because of incompatible color settings. And by incompatible, I mean that if your 3d Objects color in the Advanced Appearance window of Display Properties is the same (uncustomized) color as your Windows background color, then the glitch will happen. How to fix? By doing a slight color change, either change your 3dobjects color to something different than your windows background color - or select the same customized color for each.
But as soon as I did this, the Special Folder background images disappear.
Is there a way to customize the Special Folder background images in SkinStudio (I have version 5) so that they ALWAYS show up with the skin that I'm using? I'm using XP Pro, btw.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!
