-> Right-Click on Icon Tray? <-

Hi, it seems that some of the icons in the IconTray don't allow you to right-click on them. This is very annoying as you can't access the context menu. To access the contect menu, you have to exit Desktop X, use the menu, launch Desktop X. Any way to fix this or any workaround? I'm using the latest 3.49 RC version. Thanks for any help

Client or Builder Mode? XP or Vista?

Have the same version on XP & no problems.

It sounds like you may be running in Builder Mode and using the object browser to load widgets. You don't want to do that, you want to run widgets either with a shortcut or a double-click on their file just like you would any other program, unless you're wanting to modify the widget. Some widgets, for example OmniSlideshow, include right-click menues which work great when the widget is run as a program as intended, but interfere with right-clicking when the widget is imported into DTX (loaded via the object browser).

Hi, I'm not running in Builder mode. And yes, I actually load the SysTray object directly into my theme. I don't "run" it. I checked the widgets but don't have anything like SysTray. Am I wrong? I can discard SysTray from the list of the objects, but then how do I get it by "running" it? Thanks for any help. Stef

Ok, I was going entirely the wrong direction. I thought you meant you were having trouble with the standard Windows Systray, that's where my first reply came from.

Sounds like you're having a problem with a Systray Object. Ya you're right, if it's an object you're probably loading it right. I don't have a systray object, doesn't mean there wasn't one there at some point. Is this something you've downloaded? - if it is, or if you're running a theme that it's part of, which one is it?

(And as SirSmiley said, "XP or Vista?")

Yes I actually downloaded an existing theme probably 5 years ago. Then I adapted it a bit but didn't really mess up with systray or anything else. It was called "procar" (by the way how to add line breaks in this forum? Seems that I can't press return)

Enter/return does it for me.

I saw in another relatively recent thread that if you're running XP the DTX systray function should be working, if you're running Vista it won't.

I searched and found a Procars theme here (and ya, it's an oldie):

If that's your theme, you might try backing up your current revised version to save it with your changes, then downloading it again to see if that systray works for you.

Otherwise I'm afraid I'm failing miserably. Turns out I can't even get the systray function to work period, can't get the sdmcp to work even though I've got it selected in Stardock Central, and I've played with that about as much as I'm going to for now.

So hopefully someone else here can get you going again. Otherwise if you want to to try official Stardock support the form is here:

You can add a show the windows taskbar and start menu item to your theme should work.
Make a new object,then click on the add button under aditional abilities,then,choose
Start menu 2.You can make it a text object or an image object.It saves unloading Dx and
when you switch from build to client mode I lose my Dx Icons,So,It helps return easy
access to them.

Are you using SDC for forums? I get this too when using SDC. It's been this way on & off for a while now...

A workaround is CTRL+M to get a new line...
