ObjectDock is basically a 'shortcut' program... if you require things to be passworded, wouldnt it be better to implement the protection on the application-side of things?  I.e., password protect your Word documents, etc.

If all you want to do is keep the contents of a particular folder private you have two options,the first option is right click on the folder & use the properties box to hide it or you can use "folder lockbox" it's a free app which requires a password too open it, so putting it's shortcut on the dock would require a password to open it once clicked on,best of all it's free & updated regularly,or if you prefer i have microsofts hidden security folder 1.0 that they pulled i can send it too you

As CerebroJD said, this is a shortcut program, whatever you do to password protect the shortcuts on your PC without actually encrypting your data it will be vulnerable. OD is not designed to do this. Did you not answer the question yourself;

Surely you must see that you need a product specifically designed to do this rather than an application like OD.

Without sounding cynical or starting a flame war; if you really have data on your PC that hackers would be that interested do you really think they would use the OD interface to access it rather than just ripping it off your hard drive.

Lock your PC if you step away or create a Guest Profile so others can use the PC but not have access to your personal documents. If your data is that valuable or that private;-) then taking these extra steps during your daily routine is surely a small price to pay.

Then again..., perhaps I am missing the point of what you are asking for, if so then I apologise in advance.
