This is a 1st: I need some help!!!

Problems w/my new computer...

Ok, here's the problem: I've just purchased all the components for a new computer and I cannot get Windows XP to install on the hard drives!?! I purchased the Intel DG965WH mobo, running a E6700 duo core cpu w/2 gigs Kingston 667 fsb, and two identical hitachi 80gb sata-II's running in raid-0. I installed the drivers for the raid config from the floppy (still couldn't believe they put the drivers on a floppy) and after the initial driver install from the OS disk, I get a blue screen with an error oXooooo7b (.........) that comes up. Why am I getting an error just trying to install windows xp? As far as I can tell, everything should run just fine. Everything is brand new, mostly all off of pricegrabber. Is there something I overlooked? Any help or thoughts would be welcome. I've built about a dozen computers before, but this is only the 2nd time I've done a raid config and it's my first time dealing with a duo core setup. you can reply to this post or email me at stewart_wanamaker@yahoo.com. I take you pressed f6 (install third party raid drivers) when loading xp? my Intel board raid drivers were on a floppy also..here is the link that helped me out on my first raid build.. WWW Link good luck!

Yeah, I pressed F6 to load up the driver I needed for the raid setup for the 3rd party raid driver install, but when the XP install loads back up afterward, it says it can't find the proper file(s) on the floppy...

Maybe some setting in BIOS is wrong or the files on floppy are not for that purpose. Try to download the raid drivers from internet. Try to connect only one disk and start the install, you will be sure if there are any hardware problems.

I d/l'd the updated driver from Intel and the XP F6 setup still doesn't want to read the drivers... Fuzzy, I get a Stop error message 0x0000007B, but the other quantity sequences are different. Any other links you might have available? That one didn't seem to get me much further. Thanks guys.

Get the full stop error and type it into Google, you'll be suprised how many answers you get

Wow thanks guys, especially Fuzzy Logic. I hooked up the hdd's into another system, formatted them so that the little bit of XP OS was wiped away, then hooked them back up. I got the ntldr is missing screen, googled that, took the first guy's advice that fixed their system and kicked the damn machine, which didn't work, but made me feel a whole lot better, then reset my bios as later suggested. That allowed the machine to read from the xp disc in my dvd-rom. After I got the 0x0000007b deal again, I simply set the bios to read in a non-raid, got XP booted up on 1 hdd, d/l'd the updated bios and raid config's from Intel, and loaded up the 2nd hdd, formatted and now I'm good to go. I love building new systems, you always learn something. Thanks again for the help guys.
