My Windows adventures up to this point have been like this...
I was never a fan of Windows 3x at all. DOS was my game and I swore by it, at it, and about it. I used Windows only when necessary and rigorously increased my colorful metaphor skills in the process.
Along came Windows 95 and I JUMPED on it with a vengeance. I really found it to be a great improvement.
Windows 98.. not a major release, but I liked it even more than 95.
Windows Me (not worth discussing as it would only lead to more rigorous exercise in colorful metaphor skill enhancement.)
Windows XP, absolutely love it. Sure, it has it's frustrations like anything else, but all in all it's been quite friendly to me.
Never in the past, with all the Windows upgrades have I ran into situations where my software just won't run on a newer version of Windows. Sure, some people have had that experience, I however have not.
Now comes along Windows Vista, daunting a shiny new customized RV and spewing the gospel of Vistaness upon the masses so that they too may be "healed" by laying hands upon the sacred keyboards.
I've experienced the Vista revelation and I can honestly say that this is not a bus I'm going to hop on with the vigor and excitement of the past. My experiences with it have not been pleasant by any means. I won't dwell on them here, but rather save that for future entertainment fodder.
Good fortune to those which venture forth into the realm of those which dwell in this pretty shiny new customized RV. Take holy water as you may need to fight off evil demon spawn that co-exists with this realm though.
