Ok. Stardock continues to pump out improvements and capabilities by the truckload. Unfortunately this cornucopia of customization has left me somewhat confounded.
1. Is ObjectDock Plus a part of Object Desktop? Or is it a seperate purchase?
2. I've used ObjectBar for sometime, but have sometimes griped at its glitches and limitations. Is the new version of ObjectDock Plus an effectively replacement (and adds so much more) for ObjectBar?
3. Given that I use WindowBlinds and one of ObjectBar or ObjectDock, when and why would I use Desktop X?
At present I'm inclined to shift to Object Dock Plus with WindowBlinds (current theme du jour for me is the quite nice Dogma theme; okay, so I've used it for several months. Not exactly "du jour", but not quite a permanent choice... Now if I can just get some time to fire up Photoshop and make another customer one for my self...).
I use an alphabetical folder tree for my extensive research and technology file base. Using ObjectBar to quickly navigate has saved me many hours including some rather critical seconds during system integration and demo season. Coupling in
Google Desktop and
CMapTool (for concept mapping, brainstorming and collaboration) has given me a reasonably strong GUI for my infospace. I just would like to clean it up and make the best use I can of the various options.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
j
