I was in Talinn, Estonia on my birthday, first time I've been in another country celebrating it. My gf took me over there to basically buy a lot of stuff for less money than home, so we got to stay at a very nice hotel for very little money, came with nothing and went home with our suitcases filled with clothes and some of this years Christmas presents.
Excellent alternative way to spend the day I'd say.
