I'm having the same issue. In my case, it seems that the "My Videos" folder remains yellow.

Have you 'repaired' the shell icons?

Open IP, select Tools/Repair Shell Icons, select the "Repair shell icons for all processes" radio button & click OK.

See if that fixes it. Because there were a fair number of people reporting that skinning all the shell icons was causing issues, SD turned that option off by default a few versions ago. Most systems won't have a problem, though, so give it a shot.

I don't know nothing much, I just installed icon packager yesterday and played with it a little. It is very nice with many possibilities..it is great! Also I had the same problem with folders. I had them yellow no matter what I did. I read about repair shell icons, I thought this is a solution but it was not so..and then I clicked on Tools - Rebuild Icon Cache and then applied the icon pack I like the most (Clipboard Icon Theme..aha! ...) and it worked!! You can try the same and see what will happen, it worked for me. Wish you nice Sunday!

I have this problem too, doin the Shell and cache thing didn't help.

I tried on another system and it worked just fine. On the system that doesn't work i notice some warnings when loading icon package.

"IconPackager has detected that your current settings restrict come of the icons in this package from being applied.
Would you like to apply all the icons in this package?"

I believe this is the reason why the folder icons in windows explorer can't change. Because i remember not seeing this message on the working system.

What setting does it refer to? The settings in IconPackager are all by default.

I didn't try somethin out yet, but on the workin system, i had WindowBlinds installed after Iconpackager, on the system that doesn't work, i had WindowBlinds installed first, maybe that's the reason, some conflict or something, though WindowBlinds does sometimes include icon package, there's a setting to turn off using the windowblinds theme icons, but that still didn't help.

So i might try to reinstalled everythin again by installing iconpackager first and see if that works...other than that, there's no real solution huh..

notosapien the current version of IP is 3.20.128, Which version are you using? And did you install via Stardock Central? And which Os are you using?

Got the same problem as mentioned before. Explorer.exe will give me default folder and drive icons while using "My Computer" from the desktop shows everything how it should be. Im using Windows XP SP2 and IconPackager 3.2

Have you made sure you arent using the "Launch folders windows in a separate process" option? This will cause the default icons to be used by explorer. To check this load Windows Explorer and click Tools > Folders Options > View tab > and make sure Launch folders windows in a separate process option is unticked.

I just downloaded the latest IconPackager demo version, 3.20 (x86) and I have the same problem, on Windows XP SP2.

- If I start Windows Explorer using the Start Menu, the Desktop icon and folder icons are the default ones. If I start it by pressing Win+E, the icons are the customized ones.
- In the Open/Save dialog box, the Desktop icon in the Places Bar and the folder icons are the default ones.
- "Launch folders in a separate process" is not checked. Toggling it makes no difference.
- Repair Shell Icons is grayed out. Is this feature really disabled in the demo, or is this another problem?
- Rebuild Icon Cache and Repair Icon Images does not fix the problem.
- Changing the icon for the .DESKLINK extension and the Quick Launch icons doesn't affect the Desktop icon.

How wonderful for you. Unfortunately for most everyone else, the drive, open/closed folder and Desktop icons aren't in TweakUI's repair list.
