Changing Wallpaper in DestopX Theme - Help!

I'm not really into making my own DesktopX themes and still have to get more familiar with scripts and stuff in order to do so. Fact is, I simply don't know how to do them yet. But I have some DesktopX themes downloaded from the net which I use now and then. Problem is: I sometimes like the theme but don't like the wallpaper bundled in it, and I would like to change it and save "as is" for future use. Most I've managed to do is to put a file into the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme and rename it like the original one, so that when the theme loads it comes with the wallpaper I want. I've tried to modify the themes2.ini file and lead the theme to the wallpapr I want but it has proved to be useless. When I re-load it, even having saved it previously, the theme wallpaper goes along; changes by itself. How can I avoid it? Is it possible to load a .JPG picture instead of a .BMP one? Sorry if this is a stupid question to most of you, even if it has been discussed before. I couldn't find it. Thanx a million in advance.

This is the way I do it...... right click the desktop and click on Switch to DesktopX Builder, (or right click the tray icon and do the same thing). Then, when you are in DesktopX Builder mode, right click the desktop again, or the tray icon, and click Configure DesktopX. You should then see a button that says "Wallpaper". Click on that and you should be able to browse to any image on your system. You can use a .jpg instead of a .bmp with no problems.

Thanx BoXXi. That was just it! I remember having browsed through those sttings, but my laziness got in the way! I wonder if you can help me again with another tiny one: is there a way to include items in the lists of the popup objects which open from the sliding menus on top of the desktop area? I switched to AeroXP now, but the lists of Programs, Internet, Utilities, etc., that open, contain items and programs I don't have installed or simply I would like to change. For exemple, in Websites there's only two items and I'd like to add more things from my favorites for instance. I suppose it is as automated to solve as the one problem I had previously. How can I include items? I know that to hide the ones I don't want I go to Properties and check the "NO" box in the "Relation" ==> "Visible" option. Thank you for your time.

I haven't used that theme, but if the author uses the same technique as I do for links and shortcuts in the sliding menus, then this is how you change them.... (by the way, no need to hide them using the NO box in Relations)

If the links are "text Objects" just right click them and go to the States tab first. You should see in the "Appearance" section the name of the link you want to change, just change it to the name of the program or website you want it to link to. After that, go to the "General" tab, and either change the URL (if it's a website link) or the path to the program that you want it to open.

That's it really..... you can change the existing links using this method, or if you want to add a new one, just right click one of the existing links/URL's and click "Clone Object". This will create a duplicate of the link, and then you can change it to whatever you want using the same method described above.

I hope this all makes sense to you, if you don't understand, just let me know, and we'll figure out a better way to help you....like via MSN Messenger or something.

Touchdown again BoXXi! Living and learnin' man! It's been very useful, and all the experience I'm geting doing this, I am already sharing with others. That's what it's all about, isn't it? I hope not to be nagging, but here goes another one: in the same above mentioned theme there is a tab "Statistics" which shows the performance of the PC in things like the hard drives usage, CPU, memory usage, etc. It's all right for me except for one detail: I have two hard drives (it's OK), and two CD-DVD drives. It shows the usage of only one, the master one. It doesn't show the slave one. Is there a way for me to include this item as well? And again, if I save the theme with all these modifications when I load it again and again they will always be there, right?

What did you mean by "no need to hide them using the NO box in Relations"? Is there a faster way to hide unwanted stuff? You don't mean the "remove' option, do you? Because if you do, it's true what I said above about saving and loading and stuff coming back the way they were? I've been a little cautious, for making things the way I want spends some time.
