Few thoughts on ObjectDock. FWIW, it is to me a single most useful application and can't imagine life w/o it. But few issues for SD folks:
Flyout menus:
It be nice if the open animation effect could be adjustable. I have pretty powerful video cards and a beefy system but still once few critical applications are loaded, the flyout menus are really a dog to open (in comparison to close effect). They close plenty quick but open is another matter. It be nice to be able to dial down animation steps (slide and fade-in) much like Zoom effect for std objects.
When mouse leaves the flyout icon area the icon title stays visible. Fine in itself but when moving mouse over to different icons, the title keeps reverting to top icon's until new icon area is entered and tha produces pretty annoying title switch flicker.
When mouse is clicked on a transparent area of an icon, OD does not accept that as an icon click and just closes the flyout menu. With all the transparencies in icons today, this is rather bothersome.
Support for horizontal mouse wheel scrolling would be nice as the side arrows are cute but pretty small to hit comfortably.
Tabbed Dock:
Unlike regular ObjectDock bar, the tabbed dock stays in its original Z-Order when auto-activated from hide (drawer). Could it work the same as the non-tabbed bar, when docked to edge and auto activated bring itself to the top right away? Yes I know it can be set to "Always on top" but that does not work for me as the tabs intefere with window title bars to often. As it stands now I have to activate it, then somehow blindly click on it's empty area, I always miss and some application opens as a result, I go "Oooghhhhhh", close application and try again. Very, annoying and unproductive.
Mouseover auto-activation should be limited to screen edge. Natural inclination is to move mouse over the tab title, click it to get to desired tab, but in the split second the dock opens, and you end up clicking an icon instead, open some application, go "ooggghhhh" again and re-try. I can get that kinda balanced by making activation to super-slow but that's hardly a solution. Along the same lines, it'd be cool if tabs could optionally be set to always stay in original position (in my case it be at the top screen edge) when the dock drawer auto opens (IOW, not slide down with the dock). It would definitely save a few clicks and mouse movements.
It be useful to be able to optionally auto-center align icons (as a whole group) withinn the dock.
