I know this thread has grown beyond simply the Apogee Icons, Many of these issues are outside my preview, and I am sorry if people feel like they are not being treated well. I can only speak for myself however.
I can however let everyone know what is going on with the Apogee icons. Monday I finished up the 1.1 version of the Apogee, The package now sports over 150 file types, and every other supported package Icon. As well as the original 15 sub packages.
I have also re-compiled all the Icons to include 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 64x64, 72x72, 96x96, 128x128, and 256x256. Icon size.
I have however ran into on bug in Vista Icon support and have decided to wait until we get this ironed out before we officially launch the package. This should be pretty quick, hopefully in the next day or so.
As for why the update was so long in coming, there are several reasons, those of you who are angee wont care, but just for the record. Let me fill in a few blanks.
First off, for the last 4 or 5 months I have been working 10, 12, 14, 16 hour days. On GalCiv2. I wanted to make sure that we had the best looking game that I was able to produce. This took time.
Second, When I first announced that I would be adding Icons to the package, I was planning on adding some 15 to 20 Icons, this would bring it on par with Utopia, and hopefully appease the people who felt they were short changed. However the continued backlash of people saying that there file types were not included, made me paranoid. So I decided to make sure I was covering the baces, after 20 I just kept going. At this point I have around 120 unique file type icons, not including the rest of the pack, and the subfolders. Apogee is now the most complete package I have ever made. In the process I also create some 20 or 30 Bonus Icons that do not fit in the package, and will be available over in the miscellaneous Icons library for free.
I most say that as the one who spent his every spare moment for months creating the original Iconpackge, I felt that they were worth the price even before this update. I am sorry if you don’t agree.
This update will of coarse be free to anyone who already purchased Apogee.
For those of you who have been supportive on this issue, let me say thank you. I am grateful.
