Minor issue in Total Commander 6.53 Quick Search Dialog & WB 5 RC1

Hi!

I have a small issue with the Quick Search Dialog in Total Commander 6.53 with WB 5 RC1 (4.99[rc].006).

I use the quick search dialog often. When I leave the dialog (eg. Enter or Esc) the dialog disappears, but the Total Commander main window does not get the focus. So I have to click onto the TC window to continue working.
All this happens only with skins that include transparent window borders.

It can be reproduced any time with any skin that use transparent window borders. It cannot be reproduced with older skins that does not use this feature.

My system specs:
Intel Pentium 4, 2.7 GHz, Hyperthreading
2 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra, 256 MB

I just tried this out with the latest WB and I do not see the problem. I used ALT-F7 to search and then dismissed it with escape and if I use the arrow keys you can see the focus moving up & down the directory listing.

Is there something else I should be trying?

To answer your questions: Yes, it did happen in the previous WB5 betas too. And no, it does not occur when you search with ALT+F7. It happens when you use the quick search feature, which allows you to quickly jump to a file name in the current directory. You should try to press CTRL + ALT + the letters the file name begins with. Eg. you want to find a directory named "ServicePackFiles" in the Windows directory, so you enter the Windows directory, then while pressing CTRL+ALT you begin to type "service". A quick search panel appears showing the characters you typed, and Total Commander highlights the first file or directory which name begins with the letters "service". Suppose the "ServicePackFiles" directory is highlighted now. If you hit Enter, the quick search panel disappears and you change the current directory to ServicePackFiles. If you hit ESC the quick search panel disapperas and the ServicePackFiles stays highlighted. Either way you can continue to use your keyborad to navigate in the current list, say using the cursor keys. Try this with an older WB theme (without transparent window borders) first, then try the same with a theme with thransparent window borders! What you should see is you are unable to use the keyboard after you did a quick search if the current WB theme has transparent borders.

Just one more addition: turning on 'Never use per pixel borders on a skin' option resolves this issue. This is no surprise though, I belive.

I have updated to the newest 009 build of WB5 but I am still losing focus in Total Commander after certain file operations (operations that result in the Windows "Default Beep" being played). For instance, it happens when deleting a folder that it not empty, but still choosing Yes to delete all contents. By losing focus, I mean it moves the Total Commander window to the background if there are other windows open. If I add Total Commander to be excluded from skinning it works fine.

If you can provide us with steps to reproduce this we can look into it further.

This is reproducable every time... Open an application and maximize it. Now, open Total Commander. Make sure it is not maximized. Now select a folder that contains files. Choose to delete the folder and answer Yes when it prompts that the folder is not empty. After it deletes the folder, Total Commander's window will move to the background and the application you loaded and had maximized will move to the foreground.
