WB5 and Multiple Monitors

Hello! I'm a long time Stardock product user and finally feel the need to ask for a bit of support. I'm using a two-monitor setup and I see a few glitches using the latest RC version of WB5 (as of Nov 22), 4.99(rc).006. Using a single-monitor display, I don't see these problems.

When I maximize a window, the window does not completely maximize. There's a bit of space left above the window. (the space measures to be about the same height as the title bar of the window) The windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen covers the bottom of the maximized window. This problem has been around a while for me and with more than one computer using multiple monitors.

Using skins which are making use of the new glowing effects for close/min/max buttons, the close button hover effect appears at the center of the secondary monitor rather than around the button. If I move the window to the primary monitor, the hover effect works as intended.

I have a BFG nvidia 6800GT video card and I'm using 81.94 drivers. Though I have had this behavior with older drivers and older version of Windowblinds5. I'm using WinXP SP2. Asus K8N-E Deluxe motherboard w/ AMD 64 3700+ cpu. I've disabled just about all special nvidia windows features.

I'm also wondering if Stardock tests windowblinds using multi-monitor setups?

Are you using nView? If so you may have to disable it as it messes with window coordinates and can cause things to appear in the wrong place. Also are you in proper multiple monitor mode? I.e. do you get two monitors in the display properties settings tab and your taskbar should only be on one screen, not both.

Stardock use multiple monitor systems with WindowBlinds without problems. Right now I am using a 6600GT with 2 screens using WB5 and there are no problems with glows that I can see.

I use a multimonitor setup with an ATI X600 and I don't have those issues. I do have an issue where the outside border of one window will cross over top of a right click menu even though it's not the focus. That's single or dual monitor.

All my nView enhancements and options are disabled. The primary monitor(and also display1) is on the right, the secondary(display2) on the left. I expand my desktop to the secondary monitor and I keep my taskbar on the secondary (left monitor). I don't use spanning.

What nvidia driver version are you using?

I'm wondering if this is a driver issue rather than WB directly. I've used 77.72, 77.77, 81.94, and a few other post 6x versions. I may revert to a 6x.xx version.

I am using dual LCD monitors with nView. All nView have been disabled since using ANY desktop enhancement as they always conflict. 5500 with 81.94. Two Mag Innovision 17", with no problems...maximizes to fullscreen on both. Could it be the 64 having issue?

The primary monitor(and also display1) is on the right, the secondary(display2) on the left.

I wonder if this has anything to do with it....... I use dual monitors, with an nvida Geforce FX 5200 (nView is disabled), but monitor 1 is on the left, and I've never seen the problems you describe.

I should also mention that I haven't used the Windows taskbar since 1999...... no idea if that has any bearing.

Might it BE because of the taskbar being on the secondary? If the space left is about the size of a titlebar, that is also about the size of the taskbar...?
