VSOP juDGe: I totally understand your frustration. For those of us that: (1) want a way to completely replace the taskbar, and (2) are used to always having it visible, the change in this particular feature was, at least in my judgement, a major screwup by Stardock. I felt totally cheated when, after paying for OD+ a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that one of the most crucial features that enables OD to provide a genuine replacement for the taskbar (at least as I have always used it) was removed.
Lantec: I keep seeing people respond to this issue by suggesting that WindowsFX be used. That might work, but (1) it's a bit much for such seemingly simple problem, (2) we need a single/integrated solution (i.e. one program), and (3) OD+ should just work as "advertised" to begin with.
At any rate, I found a great little app (xBar - http://methodik.pixelarmy.org/downloads/readmes/xbar-1.6.html) that will hide the taskbar in exactly the same way as the free version of OD, but thanks to 'moopenguin32', I no longer need it. Thanks so much for pointing that out! The ToggleBar docklet seems to work perfect for dealing with this issue. My only hope is that someone from Stardock actually reads these forums, and will see that this problem is asked about often enough to warrant making the change.
