Ah, an opportunity to perhaps help out one of my favorite skinners.
I run WinDVD and OD+ will interfere with it as well. Here's how I get around it, it sounds a little odd but it works for me and maybe it will for you as well:
1. The docks that cause the least trouble are tabbed docks with magnification turned off. Tabbed docks with magnification turned on are almost always ok too.
2. I keep any untabbed docks only on the right or bottom edges of the screen. Untabbed docks on the left or the top edges of the screens tend to be the biggest problem-causers, and untabbed docks wedged into the uppper left corner (i.e., "position: Left / alignment: Top" or "position: Top / alignment: Left") will always guarantee the conflict for me.
3. Turning off the zooming on untabbed docks will also help.
In other words, I can usually get away with running a multi-tab dock with magnification turned on and/or untabbed docks on the top edge (alignment: center or right) and/or right edge with zooming turned on. That'll work fine for me for some casual mutimedia, but it does sometimes cause the conflict. Turning off the zooming on them will make it better, just using a tabbed dock works the best.
(Sidenote: I also see OD+ kind of "choke up" WinAmp or Windows Media Player when playing any videos. Same type of conflict I'd bet, WinAmp and Windows Media Player just kind of "push through it".)
Hope that helps you out. It'd make me feel better about all those skins I use.
