Why anyone would want a mock up skin, wall etc of an OS, Vista, that is a good year away is beyond me. |
Because Customizing is not a narrow, insular concept that it 'must be different from the OS'....particularly when in this case the 'difference' is that the changes/skinning is being done to an OS that is NOT 'Vista' and therefore is as you claim...different from the OS.
Some of the most popular skin 'concepts' are simply 'ports' to an alternate OS.
Personally I'd rather see a clever port of an OS than yet another recolour of Luna.
In Win3.11 you could put a different colour scheme on....or you could use Calmira and imitate Win 9x [and beyond]. The former is painting by numbers...the latter is 'skinning'...
