"you might try an earler version of IP"
HOW? SDCentral only shows the most recent non-beta release and the most recent beta. HOW do you get to earlier stable versions? Is there an FTP server with prior stable releases available to Object Desktop Network subscribers? Is there a trick to get SD Central to display prior releases?
Please, if you know how to get to those previous versions, tell me. I'm currently running the default Windows XP GUI [shudder] because the only accessible versions of SD software are unusable.
After foolishly updating to the lastest non-beta releases of WindowBlinds, ObjectDock+, and ObjectBar last night I spent 6 hours troubleshooting last night. Despite several attempts at uninstall/reinstall of the apps, rolling back to archived versions, and three separate Windows System Restore points across two prior days, I had to completely remove all SD applications. Even after doing so several of my third-party applications are still not functional.
The SD applications apparently change a core system DLL--or something else of a low-level OS nature--and they've rendered half a dozen of my mission-critical applications unusable.
As usual, Stardock support is no help. Like many other companies, their support department seems to be learning that finding support boundaries to cite is more cost effective than actually trying to resolve customers' technical issues.
