Well, recently the windows file manager has been getting on my nerves. It did when I was using Wndows ME, and even still as I use XP.
There is nothing wrong with it at all.
I just don't like the interface, or UI.
So, I thought to myself, "Since I don't like the Windows file manager, or Windows Explorer, why don't I go find a different file browser?"
I went onto Google and about after 3 hours of fruitless searching, I gave up. I figured it would be hopeless.
Thats when I found Adobe Bridge, which was installed with my Adobe Photoshop CS2 package.
But, it didn't cut it. It needed more support for different formats. I love the UI and the GUI in Bridge, but it just needs more.
So, I was figuring, why doesn't Adobe make Bridge into a full-scale file browser?
All it would need is a few improvements, such as:
a.The ability to skin it or to go with any current scheme (as defined by software such as WindowBlinds, or even the XP Shell defaults)
b. Make it able to have multiple instances running.
c. Make it load way faster, the current loading time is ridiculous, even on my new comp.
d. Give it support for in-shell widgets, like a Winamp monitor at the bottom of each browser window.
I really think that if Adobe did this, they would dominate even more.
Or, is Stardock up to the challenge?
