I'm not sure what you are looking for, but there is a program called Mail Washer. If you pay them as little as 3 dollars it will sit in your task bar and alert you that you have mail, visually and with a sound of your choice. You just need to put in a wav of your choice or use the one that comes with it, as well as control all spam and the like. It will even bounce mail back to the sender, provided the email address is legit. You can even preview the message before you let it pass to Outlook Express. You open it before your email prog. I use it and love it. You can find it here
