Problem with WB4.59

I just upgraded my Window Blinds to the latest (4.59). Now, Desktop X errors out and I can't even launch weather widgets. Get errors stating that DesktopX has encountered a problem and must shut down or dxwidget.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down. Any clues? Seems like maybe active x controls involved; but, I'm too much of a newbie to fix it. Can it be done? How?
