GNOME features an intuitive graphical user interface that allows users to easily locate information, access menus, complete tasks, launch applications and personalize their work environment. GNOME is also a web-enabled desktop with many built-in features that make accessing resources on the web simple or, in some cases, automatic. For instance, browsing a remote FTP site is as easy as browsing your local file system. GNOME 2.0 will support many of the standards necessary in a networked environment, such as XML, HTTP, HTML, POP and iCalendar.
