Hi everyone
Well I'm BACK, baby, back with a vengance! Truth be known, most of you probably didn't even know I was gone but trust me, I was. And now I'm back. As I just stated.
Moving on...
To clear up past business, let me expound briefly on the statement "Post-school, nerds are cool". It's something that has been brought to my attention repeatedly since I left school and it only seems to be getting more true. That people who were nerdy and uncool when they were at school just seem to have been 'late bloomers' (to use a really Mum-ish phrase) who come into themselves upon leaving school. They've left behind the days of seriously out-of-date black stonewash jeans and flannelette shirts and have found that funky equilibrium between smart (the part that was always there) and groovy (the part that was lacking in school but has come later).
Ironically, I've often seen it work the other way, where I've run across people who were always the cool and popular ones in school who are now.... well they haven't really gone anywhere. It's kind of sad really. But nerds, take heart if you think you're only ever going to be noticed for being the one who knows the first 20 elements in the periodic table off by heart (not that that's a bad thing -- the good Lord knows I fell into this category at one time). It just isn't your time yet.
I think before I launched into that spiel I had an idea for today's topic but if I did I've forgotten it now. In that case I'll leave it there.
Shake it like a polaroid picture,
Teegs
ps. don't brand me as a pop-culture pimp because of today's by-line, I'll have an original next time. Besides, you've got to admit that as far as quotables go, Outkast is right up there with Winston Churchhill and Napoleon
